If they don't align.. don't buy from them. ​ ​ If they don't align.. don't buy from them. ​ ​As brands we can't be perfect, especially when we are teeny tiny like ourselves.  I mean these things take money and money is to tight to mention for most of us....  ​ ​Being uber sustainable on every level unfortunately, costs the big bucks. ​ ​However, how brands speak, how they back it up with action, evidence, that's the one to watch. ​ ​Working towards better, discussing how they will do it, looking at the latest scientific innovations, speaking against social injustice, working towards a lower carbon and dare I say it zero carbon or even more daring, carbon negative output... ​ ​I mean that's the dream right? And I don't think any brand is doing that 100% atm, small or large. ​ ​Ethos and the values of a brand are everything. ​ ​Do the brands that you purchase from mirror your values? ​ ​If they don't then perhaps you should move on from that brand, or if you love their products, engage with them on socials and via email to find out if they do align with who you are and the future you want for our planet.  They may not be talking about it as loudly as they should be to get your attention. ​ ​Just a bit to think about today peeps.  Have a fab one!

Today is so called Blue Monday. ​ ​The Mondaye Today is so called Blue Monday. ​ ​The Mondayest of Monday's in January and potentially the rest of the year.  Apparently. ​ ​The theory goes that this is the time of year when we're all cold, broke and riddled with guilt that our new year's resolutions to get fit, drink less alcohol, and be a better human being have fallen by the wayside. ​ ​But hey, guess what?  It was made up by a travel company.  Yep.  Capitalism at it's finest, gas lighting us all into feeling shitty and booking a holiday. ​ ​The travel company said it's the most depressing day of the year.  First published in 2005 in a company press release where they claimed to have calculated this date using an 'equation'. ​ Totally wild.  That companies can change literal days to mean something that they see fit.  Very very clever marketing and fascinating when you think about it. ​ ​I really like the different tones of blue and it features heavily in our branding.  Duck Egg Blue I believe it is.  I don't associate it with sadness so the idea of Blue Monday just means calm, serine, in charge to me.  ​ ​Colours envoke so much feeling but they mean something different to all of us I think. ​ ​I'm actually feeling quite chipper today.  Last week was pretty rubbish though wasn't it?

Yesterday I dyed my eyebrows with a fab kit from @snicebeauty I’ve never dyed my brows before. Im a brow filler lover, as in using a powder to fill them. I don’t have many from years of plucking. Thanks the 90s. So it turns out cotton buds are a necessity for brow dying as well.
