Our top 5 predictions in the organic and natural health and beauty world for 2020

2020 is coming for us hard and fast, but what does that mean for Natural and Organic dental and beauty

Here are our top 5 predictions for 2020
Well, it’ll be no surprise to learn that we predict natural and organic beauty and dental will be on the up in 2020.  With more than 86 million spent on organic and natural products in 2018 it was it’s 8th consecutive of growth.  There were 10k products certified by the soil association across over 700 brands with 11k natural and organic ingredients on the COSMOS database.  It would be crazy to not see that this growth is giving us what we want and what we need.  Products that are good for us and good for the earth.  Consumers are becoming more aware of what they’re putting on their skin and what their buying power is doing to the earth around us.  This will continue growth in 2020

With the war on plastic well underway we will see more innovation with regard to packaging with bioplastics and compostable plastics being invested in heavily by brands looking to enhance their eco creds and innovate ahead of the pack.  Whilst single use plastic is the devil, not all plastics are equal.  Glass and cardboard is not always an option so plastic is going to need to evolve tostay in the game.

We will see a lot more focus on carbon neutrality when it comes to how brands package, ship and formulate their products.  This will be from source but also from partnering with official tree planting sources.  Planting a percentage of profits, a tree per order and the like.  Many indie brands and indie sellers are doing this now, but it will become more mainstream in 2020 with the some indie brands being able to hire carbon neutral specialists that can certify businesses as well.

The most important part of a natural or organic product is what it contains, the ingredients within, so it was a surprise that most of the focus on sustainability in 2019 in the mainstream was on packaging.  In 2020 we will see a major focus on ingredients and their sustainability creds.  Where are they produced, how are they produced, how are they are shipped and how they affect agriculture and biodiversity.

Lastly, the efficacy of organic and natural dental products, as well as haircare products will up their game.  Organic and Natural skincare has risen in the last five years with the days of them being associated with being made in the kitchen by someone who read a formulation online are long gone.  They can now be extremely complex formulations that have amazing results!  Dental and hair care will follow suit with new brands and formulators cropping up.  I don’t know about you but I’m fed up of natural dental being chalky and tasting of random flavours like fennel and orange.  Give me a strong mint any day of the week……watch this space eh.

We will be bringing all of this to you in 2020 and then some.  Dental care that can rival the big guys.  Certified by the Soil Association, vegan, cruelty free, packaged sustainably.  Dental that actually works.  Nifty eh?

Happy New Year to you all!!! You’ve been ruddy amazing!
