Are your toothbrushes biodegradable

The handle is biodegradable and compostable, however, the bristles are made of nylon so they will need to be taken off for recycling.

Why are your bristles not biodegradable

Through our extensive research prior to working with our manufacturer, there were a lot of unfounded claims by other brands and also various manufacturers.  Nylon 6 was spoken about as being biodegradable, however, they are not.  In our research efforts we found that Nylon 6 was only biodegradable under certain scientific settings.  Settings that were not possible in real life scenarios.  So, due to the unfounded nature of these claims and the need for a product to actually work, we found that nylon bristles would be the best option for us until other scientific discoveries were made.

Why are your bristles infused with charcoal?

Charcoal has a slight abrasive quality and has been used for centuries by our ancestors as a tooth cleaner.  The abrasiveness of charcoal helps lift stains, brighten teeth whilst also deodorising and providing antibacterial qualities for your oral health.  The bristles are infused with activated charcoal and accounts for around 2 to 5% of the material.  This may not seem like much but any more and it would be too much for your teeth.

Are your children's toothbrushes bamboo bristles?

Yes and no.  They are, much like our adults toothbrushes, infused.  But this time the nylon is infused with bamboo.  Bamboo has very similar qualities to charcoal but it is not abrasive.  Children's teeth do not need whitening.  What they do need bamboo provides, antibacterial, antimicrobial and anti inflammatory.

Where are your products made?

We designed them in the UK and they are manufactured with love in China.  

But isn't China bad? don't they test on animals?

Yes, unfortunately all products such as cosmetics and skincare that are sold in China are tested on Animals.  Toothbrushes, floss, tongue cleaners and straws are not tested on animals.  We would never have anything made in China that had any negative impact on Animal or Human welfare. 

How do I dispose of my toothbrush?

The bamboo handle can be composted, put back into the earth for decomposing, used in the garden as a dibber, put it in the ground and use it stand up a sappling, use them in a children's art project or keep your toothbrushes to use in your cleaning basket (I used my old brushes to clean taps and the smaller, harder to reach places in the bathroom and kitchen)

The bristles will need to be taken off.  Either snap the head off, shave the bristles off or pull them out with pliers.  You can then put them in the recycling.

The packaging can be composted or put in your cardboard recycling.

How do you accept payment?

Do you Distribute products that are tested on animals?

No. We support choose cruelty free, so no animals were harmed or tested on during the making of any of the listed products. 

We are also a PETA cruelty free accredited business.

You import goods from other countries, what about your carbon footprint?

You know, this is something we thought long and hard about when we first set our business up. 

We buy every quarter from our suppliers and ship the products to the UK.  We buy in bulk for many reasons, but one main one being that this lessens the environmental impact.

By us doing the heavy lifting for you, it keeps ours and your carbon footprint to a minimum.

How long will it take to receive my order?

UK orders will can take up to 5 days for delivery but if you order before 1pm you should receive your order the next day.

Other European orders will take up to 7 days and the rest of the world up to 10 days.

All UK orders are sent via 1st Class Royal Mail and anything going out of the UK is sent tracked via Parcel Force.

If you have not received your order in this time, please let us know straight away via email and we will investigate for you.

Why does it cost so much to send to my address and/or country?

Unfortunately European and Global shipping from the UK is quite high. We track all of our shipments that are sent out of the UK.  If your Country has a high rate of shipping, I'm afraid this cannot be helped.  

We only use Royal Mail or Parcel Force as these are the best and we can track our packages easily with them.

What packaging do you use?

We ship and box everything in cardboard, recyclable and compostable boxes.  We either use paper or cardboard and biodegradable nugget things (you know the white things that look like fat slugs?) as void fill.  We work on a reduce, reuse, recycle principle so it isn't unusual for us to use packaging that Jayne or the team have brought in from from home.  There's no point in wasting something if it's still good to use.

Our brands all use recyclable plastics, recycled plastics, biodegradable materials and glass that can easily be recycled and reused.

We are committed to living a reduced plastic lifestyle, we hold this close to our heart and truly believe this is how we should all be trying to live our life.  Making small changes where possible.  Our brands share the same outlook.
